Logitech as the maker of peripheral and its accessory has announced a new stereo speaker system plus subwoofer with THX-Certified, Logitech Z623. This speaker is a 2.1-channel system equipped with a 200-watt amplifier that delivers 35 watts to each of the satellite speakers and 130 watts to the sub. The satellites have a single driver each--a 2.5-inch dome with an aluminum phase plug--while the subwoofer utilizes a seven-inch pressure driver with a bass port in its cabinet. As is typical in this category, the satellites have hard-wired cables that plug into the sub, where the amp is located.
The subwoofer is huge, and provides a nice, rich, bass sound. We will amazed at the loudness and clarity of the bass. The speakers may seem little, but they produce a big and rich sound, with very little vibration or feedback. The overall sound quality and clarity is impressive. When you listened to your favorite songs, you will hear sounds and instruments you never heard before.

This Swiss public company offers plenty of analog inputs: The subwoofer cabinet has both stereo RCA inputs and a stereo 1/8-inch jack, and there’s a second stereo 1/8-inch jack on the right-hand speaker cabinet. The power switch, knobs for volume and bass level control, and a 1/8-inch stereo headphone jack are also on this cabinet.
Logitech also says it worked closely with THX to engineer the Z623 to meet high performance standards for frequency response, distortion, power output, noise, and overall performance, including more than 400 electrical and acoustic bench tests to confirm the system can handle a full range of high-quality applications. The satellite speakers are designed to bring clear dialog and ambient sound to users, while the subwoofer brings rich, powerful bass, whether from music or events in a game or movie.

The Z623 retail  price would be $134.99.

After the release of Harman Kardon SoundSticks II speakers and subwoofer system, which was praised for its stunning design and thus was included into New York City's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)'s permanent collection, Harman Kardon released Harman Kardon Soundsticks III, which still carries the line's pop-culture style and sophisticated design. Improving on its famous sibling’s pop-culture appeal, the SoundSticks III system is all that and much more. As a three-piece, 2.1-channel multimedia sound system, SoundSticks III brings a new level of excitement to music, games and movies to your home – with its exceptional sound clarity, enhanced color scheme and bare minimum of wiring. As the sublime sequel to a prized performer, SoundSticks III is performance art at its finest.

Harman Kardon's SoundSticks III look nearly identical to previous SoundSticks; the biggest difference is a new color for the rubberized bases on each satellite speaker—they're black now instead of iridescent gray-blue—and a white sub light instead of blue. The transparent plastic contour showcases each satellite's four mid-range drivers, and the transparency continues to the subwoofer, which looks like a jellyfish or alien spacecraft. This speaker look is cutting-edge with a modern industrial design aesthetic, elegant black accents and a luminescent white LED glow.

Technically, the SoundSticks III system is “multimedia,” but once you hear it perform, you’ll realize it could easily become your primary audio system. With 40 watts of amplification producing rich, realistic sound, SoundSticks III offers strong bass output that makes all your music sound great – no matter where the audio is coming from. And with a six-inch down-firing subwoofer amplifiers matched to the individual speakers, you can rest assured that each speaker will get exactly what it needs to deliver a consistent, optimal performance.

Since you do not need to mess around with wires and cables, you could connect the Soundsticks III to other analog output devices effortlessly. Use your Harman Kardon Soundsticks III to connect with your MP3 players, portable CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Disc players, Mac/PC/laptop or anything with stereo line-level output, thanks to the3.5mm stereo-audio connection. There is an incorporated on/off switch, built into the subwoofer volume control to help you manage power usage better and reduce you energy bill. In fact, the Soundsticks III is created and engineered to be energy-efficient, achieving the 'green' standard of the most rigorous energy-efficiency requirements. Praised for being an eco-friendly, great-quality audio system with stunning design, the Harman Kardon Soundsticks III is surely a must-have audio item for those looking to take their listening experience to the next level.

The SoundSticks III list for $169.95, but this price will likely eventually drop down into even more affordable territory as the earlier SoundSticks models did.
